GEOFEST
GEOFEST is a professional development conference attended by K-12 educators, pre-service teachers, college instructors, media specialists, and curriculum coordinators. A typical Geofest offers content lessons presented by USC geography faculty, standards-based teaching strategies for the elementary, middle and high school classroom, and sessions on using SCGeo teaching materials.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Joshua Merced from Northern Arizona University
Dr. Merced is an urban-cultural geographer and Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Recreation at Northern Arizona University. His work examines the cultural power of place, food and beverage systems, and regional identity, combining critical analysis with narrative approaches in teaching, research, and public-facing scholarship.
